Random

So, I realized this morning that I still hadn't added my new photos or the new video. I hope to have the video on this weekend, it is too cute! But here are some new pictures.
These are the cute slippers that Katy and Larry bought Bailey for her birthday. She has a little trouble walking in them, but they are so adorable!
These came with the princess car my mom and step dad got Bailey for her birthday. She loves playing with them!! She knows exactly where they go, and she loves for me and daddy to put the tiara on our heads. The funniest however, is when my grandfather wears it...he is bald :) And Bailey has started saying his name...I have always called him Boppy, and now she says Boppa, it completely melts his heart...and mine :)
I was in the middle of bringing the rest of the groceries in and saw that she had decided to help me unbag them!
Last weekend we took Bailey up to the park...well, actually we went to practice soccer fields, to play.
She was fascinated with this weed that had flowers on it. I couldn't resist the urge to pose her with her soccer ball. I know Nick was looking at this at hoping that she will be a soccer player. I just hope she takes after him with her athletic skills:)

Crazy mornings

So, I'm very behind in posting (again!), but I had to share the events of the morning. Because I am not a morning person, I'm never finished getting ready by the time Bailey gets up. She always plays in our bedroom and bathroom while I am finishing up. And it seems nearly every morning that she gets in trouble for trying to play in the cabinets (because my dear husband still hasn't put the baby locks on!). Here is a picture of her from the other morning. It's a little blurry because I took it with my phone.
While I was getting dressed in the bedroom she decided to get toilet paper from the cabinet and use the rolls as gloves?!
This morning she decided that she needed to get into the bathtub. I have a garden tub, and it is a little higher than a normal bathtub, and she actually managed to get one foot up on top of the tub and was trying to pull herself up so she could climb in!!! After she got in trouble for that, she decided to go play in the bedroom. I went into the laundry room to get my pants and when I came back I saw that she had grabbed my phone from the vanity. When I took it from her it was ringing, but I missed the called. I figured whoever it was would leave a message. When I got to work this morning I realized they hadn't left a message, and I didn't recognize the number, so I decided to call it back. Come to find out, Bailey had mangaed to dial 911 from my phone!!!! The lady said they were calling back to make sure everything was ok since they had heard a child when the call came in. So I guess this is a good lesson to me, even if your phone is locked, you can still call 911!! Oh, mornings are so fun :)
I have many more cute photos to post and a video of Bailey eating with her spoon! I'm going to put those on tonight!!

Birthday party

The first birthday is such a bittersweet occassion. Of course I was excited to be celebrating the birth of the sweetest little girl ever, but it is so hard to believe that a year has already passed! I had a lot of fun (and a little stress!) planning this birthday party. I did a cupcake theme.

I stayed up until midnight the night before and spent most of the morning of the party baking the cupcakes and Bailey's cake. I made homemade Devil's food chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting. They were pretty yummy if I do say so myself :)

Bailey of course received many great gifts! I am so thankful for the great family and friends we have! We actually got so many toys that they were starting to take over the living room...so we've moved some into our office/game room and we're going to rotate them in and out, so it will kind of be like her getting new toys every other week.

This is a pony she got from aunt Heather, uncle Mike and Jacob and Anna. She loved her caterpillar that aunt Jenny and Elizabeth got her. It says the alphabet, makes the sounds of each of the letters, says colors and plays music. The rocking chair from aunt Brittany is also a favorite! She knew exactly how to make herself rock too! She has now mastered getting in and out of the chair herself. This is the kitchen that me and Nick got her. She loves it! Actually all of the kids at the party enjoyed playing with it.This is as much of the cake as she would eat...I think she was mostly overwhelmed by all of the people there. Or maybe she was still upset from having her hand smased in a cake just like this one a few days earlier during her pictures :)

Birthday pictures

Well, I have been afraid since I scheduled Bailey's birthday pictures that they wouldn't go well...and I was right! She was not very happy. Every time I tried to sit her down she would start to throw a fit. We actually took some of the photos with her sitting on my lap and the lady shot around me. We did manage to get some cute ones though! Enjoy!

Next Survivor Series

I received this email and thought it was so funny that it needed to be shared! NEXT SURVIVOR SERIES: Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and 3 kids each for six weeks. Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes . There is no fast food. Each man must take care of his 3 kids ; keep his assigned house clean , correct all homework , and complete science projects , cook , do laundry , and pay a list of 'pretend' bills with not enough money. In addition, each man will have to budget in money for groceries each week. Each man must remember the birthdays of all their friends and relatives , and send cards out on time--no emailing . Each man must also take each child to a doctor's appointment , a dentist appointment and a haircut appointment . He must make one unscheduled and inconvenient visit per child to the Urgent Care. He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function. Each man will be responsible for decorating his own assigned house , planting flowers outside and keeping it presentable at all times. The men will only have access to television when the kids are asleep and all chores are done . The men must shave their legs , wear makeup daily , adorn themselves with jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes , keep fingernails polished and eyebrows groomed . During one of the six weeks , the men will have to endure severe abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme, unexplained mood swings but never once complain or slow down from other duties. They must attend weekly school meetings , church , and find time at least once to spend the afternoon at the park or a similar setting. They will need to read a book to the kids each night and in the morning, feed them , dress them , brush their teeth and comb their hair by 7:00 am. A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all of the following information: each child's birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size and doctor's name. Also the child's weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of labor, each child's favorite color, middle name, favorite snack, favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear and what they want to be when they grow up. The kids vote them off the island based on performance. The last man wins only if... he still has enough energy to be intimate with his spouse at a moment's notice. If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over and over again for the next 18-25 years eventually earning the right To be called Mother!
